CIC President part of Youth Leadership Training Camp

CANADÁ - Junio 2013

CIC President/Founder, Ted Winick, is taking part in Camp Lead 13, an innovative five-day leadership training camp that engages youth to explore broad questions about leadership, including peacemaking, conflict prevention and transformation.

Using a curriculum developed by International Education for Peace Institute, Chess Institute of Canada, and Young People’s Theatre of Toronto, Camp Lead 13 will include hands-on multimedia projects and group activities to inspire and engage campers.

Winick will run an experiential learning session called “Team Chess”, using the game of chess as a medium through which campers will gain direct experience with leadership, teamwork, tolerance and respect.

The initiative is spearheaded by Yspace, an organization that endeavors to create a social place where youth come together to play, learn, collaborate and serve. The camp runs from June 24 to 28 and is open to youth, ages 12 to 18. More detail about the camp, including how to register, is available on Yspace’s website.
